Marisa Wikramanayake plays with words for a living as a writer, editor and journalist. Science Network WA pays her to talk to fascinating scientists, prior to which she penned a four year long weekly column about politics, popular culture and life in Perth for The Sunday Leader newspaper. She occasionally gets to listen to and write about the latest independent music but she constantly plays games, takes photos and writes about books she has read for The West Australian and the Australian Book Review. When she isn't working, she's - well - working: on her novel Sedition. She ran the How to write a book group on Emergen and was convenor for the 6th IPEd National Editors Conference, Perth 2013.
